Macademia Tree Nut Plantation
Project Description
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The business proposal considers the investment of Swazi Lilangeni (SZL) 24 million to establish a Macadamia nut tree plantation over 68 Ha. This plantation, located in the Malkerns area, will be managed and operated by Dalcrue Management under the auspices of a newly incorporated, wholly owned subsidiary, Dalcrue Macadamia (Pty) Ltd.
This project dovetails with the company’s strategic objective of optimally using the land, which is currently used to grow cash crops under rain-fed conditions. Past results have been erratic, with yields inconsistent due to combined factors, including drought and theft.
