  • Clearance from the Central Electricity Board
  • Clearance from the Department of Civil Aviation
  • Authorization for the acquisition of land under the non-Citizen Property Restrictions Act
  • Clearance received from Land Conversion from the Ministry of Agro-Industry & Food Security
  • Clearance received from Ministry of Environment, Solid Waste and Change Management
  • Clearance from Road Development Authority and Traffic Management Road Safety Unit
  • Building and Land Use Permit from the District Council
  • Clearance and Land Drainage Authority

AVAILABILITY OF PRE-FEASIBILITY STUDIES, FEASIBILITY STUDIES, AND OTHER STUDIES:

Feasibility studies carried out:

  • Storm drainage
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Possible interference with the radio frequency system of the airport of Mauritius

ESTIMATED COST OF THE PROJECT:

USD 31.25 million

INVESTMENT REQUIRED:

USD 7 million

PERIOD OF IMPLEMENTATION:

2022-2023

REMARKS:

Emtel Technopolis Ltd has developed an integrated technology park on 66 arpents of land in the south-east of the island. The park includes the hosting of 21 antennas to act as relays for a constellation of satellites for a global satellite communication group. The establishment of a data centre and innovation laboratory are also planned.
