PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Farm to table beef operation producing high-quality meat for export.
Key Features:
- 5,300 Ha, with basic infrastructure provided by the Government of Rwanda
- Component 1: Export grade, fully automated abattoir with 20 cattle per hour capacity
- Component 2: Farm development and feedlot with annual throughput of 20,000 heads. 13 domestic co- investors have already prepared most of the land
- Strong global, regional and domestic demand: USD 440 million meat imports to Qatar per year; unexploited regional market of over USD 500 million; 68% import growth (since 2011)
- Combined IRR: of 22% estimated by international consultancy
