Status Hi–Tech Expansion Project

Project Description

Status Hi-Tech, a leading Zambian PPE and firefighting equipment supplier with operations across major industrial hubs and a DRC subsidiary, seeks USD 3 million (minority stake) to expand into manufacturing, wholesaling, and export markets.

Funds will support USD 1million capex and USD 2 million working capital. With strong demand and 25%+ net profit margins, the company aims to scale its high-growth operations, especially in Chingola and Solwezi. Umlimi Trading and OTAGO plan a recycled-biomass char-briquette plant to replace unsustainable charcoal, support farmers, and reduce deforestation.

The project seeks USD150,000 (equity/debt) for equipment and capacity building. With 40% EBITDA, strong local demand, and production scaling to 720–1,440 tonnes/year (20% exports), the factory can be operational within six months.
