Dairy Processing Plant

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The Swaziland Dairy Board (SDB), wholly owned by the government, provides a supportive socio-economic environment for the development of the dairy industry aimed at achieving food security, poverty reduction, investment promotion, job creation and export promotion.

The SDB is seeking an investment partner with technical expertise to operate a dairy processing plant for different flavoured products.  The plant has the capacity to process 150 million litres of raw milk, which is available locally. Investment is required in the construction of the warehouse and operating the dairy processing plant.

Estimated project cost is USD 10 million. This will meet the current local demand for dairy products of about 80 million litres. Surplus products will be exported. The project scale and size can also be extended in the future. The land for the project has been identified and allocated and initial designs of the warehouse are available.

The project will ensure security of supply for dairy products in the country and create jobs for local people. Once operational, the plant will increase market access for local dairy farmers. It will also increase value addition to local production, domesticating the value chain and diversifying products.
