Establishment of Renewable Energy Power Plants (Wind / Solar)
Project Description
As part of the state’s plan to increase the contribution of renewable energy to the electricity mix, 538 km² in Beni Suef Governorate has been allocated to the New and Renewable Energy Authority for the construction of renewable energy power plants.
Implementation relies on private sector participation. Part of this area has been made available to investors, leaving about 380km², capable of accommodating up to 2GW of wind power or 20GW of solar power, for investors to establish power plants. The number of investment opportunities will be determined by the capacity of each project.
The plants (wind/solar) will produce electricity for sale to the grid or for use in the production of green hydrogen.
