Development of Irrigation in Agriculture

Project Description

A study of the Burundian agricultural sector revealed that the potential for irrigation in the country is more than 135,000ha. However, only about 22% of the potential area is being irrigated.

Boosting irrigation is necessary to overcome difficulties caused by climate change, such as irregular rains and drought.
