KoBold Metals (Bezos & Gates-backed) signs AI-driven minerals deal with Burundi

KoBold Metals has signed an MoU with Burundi’s government to digitise the country’s geological data and make it publicly accessible, accelerating mineral discovery in the East African Nickel Belt. The Musongati Nickel Deposit hosts an estimated 150 million tonnes of laterite grading 1.31% nickel. KoBold also committed $50 million to begin the largest lithium exploration campaign ever undertaken in the DRC.
