First Edition of Africa IPA Forum


The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI – Egypt) in collaboration with COMESA RIA and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs co-organized the first edition of Africa IPA forum, under the patronage and participation of H.E. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, during the period 11 – 14 June 2021 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. The event brought together Africa’s IPAs, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), regional and international development institutions and prominent Egyptian businessmen and investors to explore prospects for regional integration, networking and encouraging cross-border investments. The event included various activities such as sessions on regional integration issues, B2G and B2B meetings, and experience sharing activities.

The forum witness the participation of heads and representatives of 34 African IPAs (including 13 COMESA IPAs), Regional and international organizations, among which; African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), African Union Commission, African Development Bank, and Afreximbank. In addition to more than 100 prominent Egyptian Businessmen in various sectors such as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing.
